Chandigarh, November 25

Haryana Skill Development and Industrial Training (SDIT) Department has signed two Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) with Medha Learning Foundation to provide best practical training to the trainees and to improve placements for ITI pass outs.

Sharing information in this regard an official spokesperson of the Department said that that the Department has implemented online e-learning system for theoretical topics for all ITI trainees since the COVID-19 lockdown period through the website along with trade wise and unit wise whatsapp groups.

Taking one of its kind initiatives in the vocational education system of the country, SDIT has signed a MOU with Medha Learning Foundation. This initiative will further enhance the online teaching and learning in lTls in Haryana, he added.

Director General, Skill Development & Industry Training Department, Dr. Rakesh Gupta told that under this project, Medha Learning Foundation will install Learning Management System (LMS) without any cost through which lTl instructors can teach the theoretical topics online and conduct weekly and monthly assessments while the on-campus time will be focused on providing best practical training to the trainees. Medha’s lT team will train the ITI instructors and students on using LMS before rolling out the technology to all ITI campuses. The best part of this LMS is that students will not need 24*7 internet connectivity to access the LMS content, he added.

In this signing ceremony, Joint Director, Sanjiv Sharma, Assistant Director, Anita Dutta from the Department and Senior Manager, Neelam Ahlawat and Manager, Aslam Noor were the representatives of Medha Learning Foundation.

Divulging more details Dr. Gupta said that in October 2020, the Department had signed MOU with Medha Learning Foundation to improve placement outcomes of the ITI pass outs. Under this MOU, Medha has introduced Meet App through which online placement drives will be conducted for lTl pass outs, he added.
