44 new cases and 3 more deaths reported in UT Ladakh;

Leh, Aug 18: As per the media bulletin released by the Directorate of Health Services UT Ladakh, total 44 persons were tested positive for COVID-19. Out of the total positive reports, CMO Leh received 27 positive reports from various testing centers of COVID Lab Chuschot and PGIMER Chandigarh. While CMO Kargil received 17 positive reports from PGIMER Chandigarh, COVID Lab Chuschot and through Rapid Antigen Test.
With the death of three more patients; one in Leh and two in Kargil districts from Covid-19, the total of death in UT Ladakh has gone up to 17.
The bulletin further details that 15 patients from Facility Isolation Leh, 04 from Home Isolation and 07 patients from Covid Care Centre Leh were discharged today after their negative sample reports were received yesterday. Similarly, one patient from Home Isolation Kargil was discharged today after their negative sample reports were received yesterday.
With this, the number of COVID-19 active cases in UT Ladakh has gone up to 598; 350 in Leh district and 248 in Kargil district and that the condition of all 598 active cases of COVID-19 in UT Ladakh is stable.
216 samples were sent to PGIMER Chandigarh for testing today. Out of the total samples, 122 samples were sent by CMO Leh and 94 samples were sent by CMO Kargil.
At Upshi check post 114 passengers, drivers, and helpers of 35 tankers, 37 trucks and 7 light vehicles were screened. Also 109 passengers and 232 drivers and helpers of 115 tankers, trucks and light vehicles were screened at Khaltsi check post yesterday. Vehicles were also sanitized. Also, 371 passengers were also screened at Leh Airport today.
