Shri Fulzele Piyush Nirakar, IPS, SSP Security, conducted a comprehensive inspection of key venues, including Jevetsal and the Dharma Centre, to review preparedness for the forthcoming Sacred Buddha Relics Exposition scheduled to be held from May 1 to May 15, 2026.
During the visit, the SSP reviewed a wide range of arrangements put in place for the smooth conduct of the exposition, which is expected to attract a large number of devotees, including monks, nuns, and visitors from across the country and abroad.
He assessed visitor management plans, including designated visiting hours, crowd regulation measures, and traffic management strategies around the venues. Special attention was given to entry and exit protocols, gate management, and the establishment of control rooms to ensure real-time monitoring and effective coordination.
The SSP also inspected arrangements related to temperature control, cleanliness, and overall maintenance of the premises to ensure the preservation and dignified display of the sacred relics.
The inspection further covered security deployment, venue decoration, positioning and presentation of the relics for public viewing, and facilities for devotees.
Emphasis was laid on maintaining a seamless flow of visitors while ensuring safety, discipline, and a spiritually enriching experience for all attendees.
Shri Fulzele Piyush Nirakar held detailed deliberations with concerned officers on various organisational aspects and directed them to ensure close coordination among all departments for the successful conduct of the exposition.
He was accompanied by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Leh, along with officers from the Police Department and other line departments.
The visit concluded with directions to fine-tune all arrangements and ensure that necessary measures are put in place well in advance of the event.
