Feroz Khan congratulates KREDA on signing of PPA with Power Department UT Ladakh
KARGIL, FEBRUARY 09, 2021: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor,LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan congratulated Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA) on having signed Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Power Department UT Ladakh.
The CEC said that the signing of PPA has been a long pending issue and was therefore continuously taken up at every level by the LAHDC Kargil. He congratulated all the employees associated with KREDA on the occasion.
Feroz Khan expressed gratitude to the LG Ladakh Radha Krishna Mathur, Advisor to LG Umang Narula, Secretary Power Department Ladakh Ravinder Kumar and Chief Engineer Power Ladakh for having redressed the issue on priority basis.
CEC Khan further stated that Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary and Project Director, KREDA Kacho Ahmad Khan have worked hard to prepare this historic PPA which will go a long way in making Kargil a model renewable energy district in the country. He extended congratulations to both of them as well.
Feroz Khan expressed optimism that as in the past, KREDA will continue to work tirelessly towards harnessing the abundant potential of renewable energy in the district.
Pertinently, KREDA is an LAHDC Kargil undertaking which has been functioning in the district since 2010. It has already commissioned 4 small hydro power projects in Kargil District while 3 small hydel power projects are in the pipeline. The agency has been at the forefront in deliverance of environment friendly energy solutions in the remotest areas of the district.
