4000 play schools with modern facilities and infrastructure to be opened in State: Governor

Chandigarh, March 5- Haryana Governor, Sh. Satyadeo Narain Arya said that to provide quality pre-school education to the children of age group of 3 to 6 years, the State Government is opening 4000 play schools with modern facilities and infrastructure.  In the   phase, 1135, Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) running from school premises or departmental buildings in schools will be upgraded into play schools whereas 2865 AWCs will be upgraded into play schools in the second phase.

            Satyadeo Narain Arya was delivering his address on the first day of Budget Session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha which commenced here today.

 

Around 500 Creches having modern facilities to be opened

The Governor said that to meet the needs of working women in different sectors, Government has decided to open creches in the state with modern facilities.  Therefore as many as 500 creches, including 182 earlier sanctioned crèches, will be opened for working women and provide homely environment to the children of working women.

 

Mukhya Mantri Doodh Uphaar Yojna launched

            The Governor said that the State Government has launched the Mukhya Mantri Doodh Uphaar Yojna on August 5, 2020. In this scheme, 200 ml fortified skimmed milk in six flavors  is provided six days a week to 9.03 lakh children (between 1 to 6 years of age) and 2.94 lakh pregnant and lactating mothers registered as beneficiaries in Anganwadi centres (AWCs) in the State. This skimmed milk is fortified with vitamin A and D3 as per specification of Food Safety and Standard Authority of India (FSSAI).

Reforms brought in Social Justice and Empowerment

            Satyadeo Narain Arya said that State Government is committed to provide pensions to the vulnerable sections of the society such as senior citizens, widows and destitute women, persons with disabilities eunuchs, destitute children, parents with one or more than one girl child, non school going divyang children and Kashmiri migrants. Beside this, the State Government has established Haryana State Society for Prevention of Substance Abuse to focus on the fight against substance abuse in Haryana. Demand reduction strategies have been prepared and the most affected districts will see an expansion in services related to rehabilitation of victims of substance abuse. Identification, community mobilization, treatment, family rehabilitation, mainstreaming, economic rehabilitation of victims of substance abuse activities shall be undertaken in the first phase.

Widened the scope of Mukhya Mantri Vivah Shagun Yojna

            Satyadeo Narain Arya shared that in a bid to ensure Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, the State Government with effect from June 3, 2020 has widened the scope of Mukhya Mantri Vivah Shagun Yojna, Rs. 51,000  is given to a couple if both of the spouse are divyangjan and Rs. 31,000 if one of the spouse is divyangjan. An amount of Rs. 98.95 crore has been spent under the Yojna on 29498 marriages during the year 2019-20.

 

Scholarship to meritorious Scheduled Caste students

            The Governor said that the State Government is providing scholarship ranging from Rs. 8000 to Rs. 12,000 per annum to encourage meritorious Scheduled Caste students under Dr. Ambedkar Medhavi Chhaatra Yojana in class 11, 1st year of Graduation and 1st year of Post-Graduation courses. Scholarship is also being provided to Backward Classes students on the basis of their percentage score in Matric Class. Besides this,  the Government is providing free coaching to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes aspirants to prepare themselves for various competitive and entrance examinations such as Civil Services Exams, Banking /Railway /SSC /HTET/CGL and NEET/JEE etc. through reputed institutions with income upto Rs. 2.5 lakh per annum, asserted the Governor.

Loan provided to Backward Classes, Minority and PWDs

            The Governor said that the State Government through the Haryana Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections Kalyan Nigam provides loans for self employment upto Rs. 15 lakh to the people belonging to Backward Classes, upto Rs. 30 lakh to the people belonging to Minority Communities and upto Rs. 50 lakh to the Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). The Haryana Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation has assisted 1904 beneficiaries by providing them financial assistance of Rs. 1265.20 lakh including  Rs. 115.34 lakh as subsidy for various self employment Schemes during the year 2020-21, he shared.
