Chandigarh, May 1: In view of the bad weather conditions and further to ensure swift lifting of wheat that has arrived in procurement centres of Hisar, Jind, Sirsa and Fatehabad districts, the Haryana government has decided to stop procurement of wheat in the rest of the districts of the State till May 3, 2021. While the procurement of wheat in these four districts mentioned above would continue.
Sharing more information in this regard, an official spokesperson said that from April 1 to 30, 2021, a total of 83.51 lakh tonnes of wheat has arrived in 396 mandi/procurement centres, out of which 80.37 lakh tonnes of wheat have been procured.
He informed that on May 1 sa much as 20311 tonnes of wheat has been procured by government procurement agencies at the Minimum Support Price.
To date as many as 9,10,137 J-forms of 4,99,142 farmers have been issued and an amount of Rs. 9270 crore has been transferred directly to the account farmers whose crops have been procured.
The spokesperson said that officers concerned have been directed that the lifting of the procured wheat should be done on daily basis to ensure that farmers can sell their crops in a hassle-free manner.
Besides this, the State Government has deputed senior officers for inspection of Mandis so that the procurement work is carried out smoothly.
