Neeraj Chopra becomes the first Indian to win gold in Diamond League

Chandigarh, September 9– Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has congratulated Olympic Gold Medalist Neeraj Chopra on winning the Gold Medal in the Diamond League Finals title in Zurich.

        With this historic win, Neeraj Chopra has become the first Indian to win a gold medal in the Diamond League with a throw of 88.44m. By achieving another historic feat, the ‘golden boy has once again made the country and the state proud.

        “Neeraj Chopra, the son of Haryana had become the first Asian athlete to win gold in athletics at the Olympics. After his historic win at Olympics, Neeraj Chopra has constantly been achieving several achievements in many international sports,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.

        The Chief Minister said that today, only because of the outstanding performances of the players like Neeraj Chopra, Haryana has made a distinctive mark in sports. The State Government is constantly striving to promote sports.
