Even though the recovery rate of the Covid-19 is very impressive among all the age groups in India, the spreading of new and more aggressive variants can slow the recovery rate, says the medical experts. Many people, who were infected from the Covid-19 and had successfully recovered, often complain of post-Covid health complications.
Despite testing negative for the virus, patients feel weakness, breathing problems, digestion problems, fatigue, chest pain, joint pain and many more. However, these tips, as advised by the doctors, will surely help you in getting recovered from the virus.
·Take enough sleep, rest: Even after getting recovered from the virus, the human body is not fully recovered to get back to the routine exercises and chores. Doctors believe that for faster recovery from weakness, one must take enough rest and sleep as it will help in gaining the lost energy.
·Have a balanced diet: eating meals full of balanced nutrients will help you recover faster from the virus and it’s after health complications. Doctors recommend increasing protein intake in your diet, including eating fish, eggs, chicken, soya, dairy products and many more. Also include soups, salads and nuts in your daily meals.
·Monitor symptoms: even after getting tested negative for the virus, one can have the symptoms of Covid-19, including breathlessness. Doctors advise to monitor each and every symptom properly. “Try to use an oximeter to note the oxygen level daily. Also check if your chest is getting congested and you face difficulty in breathing”, say doctors, adding that immediately consult the doctors in case of emergency or severe symptoms.
·Breathing exercises: Doctors advise to do breathing exercises, at least for a couple of months after getting tested negative for the virus. Regularly do breathing exercises with the help of a spirometer, blow a balloon or lay stomach-down in the proning position to expand the lungs and regulate breathing.
·Get vaccinated: If you have been infected with Covid-19, you develop antibodies against the virus and hence you are immune for a few months after the recovery. However, you can still get infected later as re-infection has been commonly noticed by the doctors. To avoid the risk of getting infected again, get vaccinated after 6 months of testing negative, as suggested by the government of India.
