Functioning of G-Nagar hospital analyzed at RKS meeting

JAMMU, OCTOBER 28
First meeting of Rogi Kalyan Samiti of Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu for the financial year 2020-21 was held under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner Jammu, Romesh Chander. Medical Superintendent Dr. L D Bhagat , Chief Medical Officer Jammu, Dr. J P Singh,  ADMO Dr Suresh Sharma, DSWO Jammu, Ajay Salaan, besides Corporators, Engineers of PWD, Jal Shakti, representatives of NGOs and other members of the smiti were present at the meeting.
At the outset, the Medical Superintendent gave a detailed power point presentation on the overall working of hospital besides apprising the meeting about the objectives, functions and achievements of the RKS.
He informed about the work done report of the pre Covid period from November 1, 2019 to March 22, 2020. It was told that on  March 23, 2020 the hospital was designated as Covid-19 hospital and a total 600 positive patients were admitted in the hospital till October 23, 2020. During this time, the Hospital conducted 105 LSCS operations, facilitated 20 FTND( Full time normal deliveries)  of Covid Positive patients ,  conducted  dialysis of 162 covid patients, took sampling of over 3600 persons and witnessed 43 palliative care admissions since April. Also the Hospital conducted 35 blood transfusions, 1487 lab tests of Covid patients, 45 CT scans, 7 USGs, dealt 11 surgical cases and conducted 318 chest X- rays. The Hospital made available a total 90 oxygen supported beds, made available 62  D-type 02 cylinders, 88 medium 02 cylinders   and distributed 3645 Ayush immunity boosters. While informing other achievements, it was told that various committees were constituted to facilitate up-gradation of the hospital to meet the National Quality Assurance Standards. “For which Doctors/ Paramedical staffs were trained to identify the gaps as per the checklist and fill up those gaps to achieve the National Quality Certification”, the meeting was told. After putting in all the hard work by the staff of the hospital remarkable improvements in the gap analysis was done and hospital has bagged the Nations Quality Assurance Standard certification in 14 departments. The medical superintendent also stressed on other major achievements including start of DNB courses, procurement of new Samsung digital X ray Machine and Portable X-ray Machine, installation of CCTV cameras, Establishment of ICU.
It was further told that Ayushman Bharat( Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana) is under implementation in the hospital and 1190 beneficiaries have been registered, while  1014 golden cards issued to the beneficiaries and 26 patients have been provided the benefit under PMJAY.
 For covid management, it was told that as per the guidelines proper spacing (1/2 meter) was made in the wards all the extra beds were removed and 90 beds were managed for receiving the Covid positive patients in the old block and 200 beds in the new  MCH block. One new genset has been installed at old block and 2 gensets have been installed at new block for power back up. The Medical Superintendent also put forth requirements before the members for discussion and approved by the RKS members including procurement of Medicines, maintenance and repairs, out sourcing of security workers and other important issues. The Smiti also approved various projects works.
