Seminar on International Mother Language Day

Bhopal : Monday, February 21, 2022

Higher Education Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that language is the most effective and powerful source of culture. Language is the best asset of man. The culture of a society/group cannot be imagined without language. Minister Dr. Yadav said that the British ruled India on the basis of language and had caused conflict and war between many kings, but they themselves never fought among themselves. He said that now in the new National Education Policy also a provision has been made to prepare courses in mother tongue. Madhya Pradesh tops in implementation of National Education Policy. We have accepted the challenge of preparing the traditional English language engineering and medical courses in Hindi and this work is in progress under the leadership of subject experts.

The Higher Education Minister expressed the above thoughts in a seminar organized by Madhya Pradesh Hindi Granth Academy and Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi Vishwavidyalaya on “Sanskriti, Sanskar aur Sabhyata ka Samvardhan – Bharatiya Bhashayen” on ‘International Mother Language Day’.

National Secretary of Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, New Delhi, Shri Atul Kothari said that the language of India is the best. Hindi is one of the best languages. He said that there cannot be a substitute for mother and motherland. There are an estimated 6 thousand languages in the world. Only 200 of these languages would survive by the end of the 21st century. It includes many languages of India. With the loss of a language, the community, traditions, culture and expression of that language ends. The society also has to think about the importance of language. Change can be brought in life by adopting small things. You should think deeply about what changes you can bring in your life.

Vice Chancellor of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi University Prof. Khem Singh Daheria said that Hindi University has the responsibility to prepare MBBS syllabus in Hindi. We have accepted this challenge and the basic syllabus will be ready in about a year. Shri Daheria said that UNESCO’s Language Atlas lists 6 thousand languages of which 2500 languages are endangered.

Higher Education Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav also released the latest issue of “Rachana” magazine of Madhya Pradesh Hindi Granth Academy. Director, Madhya Pradesh Hindi Granth Academy, Shri Ashok Kadel presided the function.
