RGNUL observes the birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh

The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab celebrated the birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. On this occasion the university organised different events. RGNUL Cultural Committee organized a Nukkad Natak. The Nukkad Natak titled “A Tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh” showcased the glorious struggle and sacrifice of the courageous legendary nationalist.
The Centre for Advanced Studies in Human Rights (CASIHR), RGNUL organized a special lecture titled “Exploring the thoughts of Shaheed Bhagat Singh in Contemporary Context.” This lecture was delivered by Dr. Ronki Ram, Visiting Professor at the University of Ladakh, Member of the State Higher Education Council, UT Chandigarh. He delved into the ideology and alternative agenda for governance given by Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Dr. Ronki Ram said,” Shaheed Bhagat Singh raised valid issues in the 1920s that can still guide us to resolve several conflicts. The supreme martyr, Bhagat Singh, should be remembered as one of the first rationalists in the galaxy of Indian freedom fighters.
Prof. G.S. Bajpai, Vice-Chancellor, remarked “The inexorably moving ideology of Shaheed Bhagat Singh reveals his passion for social justice. His uncompromising struggle against colonialism, imperialism and capitalism has the potential to inspire people in times when neo-imperialism looms large.”
Candle March to honor the indomitable spirit of Shaheed Bhagat Singh was organised by Pro Bono Club, RGNUL on 27th September 2022. Prof. Anand Pawar, Registrar, Dr. Sidharath Dahiya, Deputy Registrar, Faculty members, staff and students of RGNUL participated in the Candle March.
