Rupnagar district secures five out of six highest ranks<\/p>\n

Nangal bags 4th rank overall in north India out of 200 Municipal Councils<\/p>\n

In Swachh Survekshan 2021, Rupnagar district significantly improved its ranking, whereby Municipal Councils of the district bagged higher ranks in north India in different categories of the population. It was disclosed by Deputy Commissioner Sonali Giri in press communiqu\u00e9 released today.<\/p>\n

Giving details here, Deputy Commissioner said that Municipal Council Nangal bagged 4th rank overall in north India out of 200 Municipal Councils in the category in 25K to 50K population. Municipal Council Morinda also bagged 4th rank overall in north India out of 720 Municipal Councils in category of less than 25000 populations.<\/p>\n

Municipal Council Roopnagar bagged 12th rank in the category of population above 50,000 to one lakh population out of 95 Municipal Councils of north India adding that she said Municipal Council Anandpur Sahib and Nagar Panchayat Kiratpur Sahib also secured 23rd rank and 29th rank in the whole of North India
\nMrs. Sonali Giri further said that Swachh Survekshan results have been announced zone-wise in different category populations whereby Rupnagar district\u2019s Municipal Councils has secured five out of six highest ranks.<\/p>\n

Lauding the tireless efforts being made by the officers and employees of the Local Government Department, She said that the district Rupnagar has improved the cleanliness level of the entire district on various parameters like door to door waste collection, Segregation of Solid Waste, processing of plastic waste, removing garbage vulnerable points, converting wet waste into compost and worked on overall beautification of urban areas.<\/p>\n

She said that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (MOHAUD) is conducting Swachhta Survekshan every year and Municipal Councils of the district bagged higher ranks in north India in different categories of population in Swachh Survekshan 2021.<\/p>\n

Deputy Commissioner divulged that Solid Waste Management is the most important issue in the urban area. Most of the Urban Local Bodies are improving in the management of Solid Waste for which District Administration Rupnagar has taken several steps to ensure a safe and healthy environment for citizens.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
