State Election Commission releases brief revision programme of voters lists of Panchayats<\/h2>\n

In the context of the ordinance (number 14, dated November 21, 2021) issued by the State Government, the State Election Commission has issued a programme for a brief revision of the voters lists of the affected Gram Panchayats.<\/span><\/p>\n

State Election Commission Secretary Shri B.S. Jamod has informed that on the basis of the earlier delimitation, the aadhar patrak (base sheet) of Panchayat wise ward division is to be prepared by November 25, 2021, marking the new area division. The process of shifting the voters identified as per the aadhar patrak to the area wise control table has to be completed by November 26.<\/span><\/p>\n

Public publication of photo less format voter list will be done on November 29, 2021 at Gram Panchayat and other designated places. Claims and objections will be taken from November 29 to December 3 on the process of shifting the voters on the basis of delimitation. The claims and objections received will be resolved by December 4.Public publication of the final voter list containing photos will be done on December 6, 2021 at Gram Panchayat and other designated places.<\/span><\/p>\n

This revision will be limited to the entry of voters registered in the last published electoral roll at the appropriate place. No action will be taken to add or delete new names during this period.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is noteworthy that by promulgating the Madhya Pradesh Panchayat Raj and Village Swaraj (Amendment) Ordinance, 2021, through Madhya Pradesh Government Ordinance No. 14 of 2021, Gazette Publication, November 21, 2021, section 9A has been inserted in the Madhya Pradesh Panchayat Raj and Village Swaraj Act. According to this section, the delimitation of all Panchayats and their wards or Janpad Panchayats or their constituencies or District Panchayats or their constituencies has been repealed, where notification of election has not been issued by the State Election Commission within one year of such delimitation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Consequent to the repeal of the delimitation, the elections to these Panchayats and their wards or Janpad Panchayats or their constituencies or District Panchayats or their constituencies shall be held on the basis of the delimitation or division which existed immediately before the expiry of their respective period. In this situation, there has been a change in the position of the boundaries\/inner wards of certain gram panchayat areas. Thus, it is expedient to enter the voters included in the final publication of the voters list of the affected Panchayats.<\/span><\/p>\n
