Chandigarh.22 September,2020:<\/strong> The Department of Social Welfare imparting the message among community regarding the importance of proper nutrition in building a prosperous nation and asked the people to contribute towards a malnutrition-free Chandigarh. “Poshan Maah 2020\u201d is being celebrated in U.T. Chandigarh with full enthusiasm.
\nThis year, Rashtriya POSHAN Maah 2020 will focus on two major activities to be carried out at grass root level namely Identification and tracking of children with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and Plantation drives for promotion of Kitchen gardens.
\nFor mobilizing the community different activities have been performed by Anganwadi Workers at all the Anganwadi Centres such as webinaars, Online Demonstrations, Deep Mala, POSHAN Vatika, Nutri-Garden, etc on various themes of POSHAN Abhiyaan. The key precautionary measures of COVID-19 are being followed during the Maah.
\nThe POSHAN Announcement (Munadi) which was inaugurated by Sh. Arun Sood, State President of BJP Chandigarh conducted at Khuda Jassu through Anganwadi Mobile Van POSHAN on Wheels. The POSHAN on Wheels has announcement for general awareness regarding the objective of POSHAN Abhiyaan aim to ensure holistic development and adequate nutrition for pregnant women, mothers and children.
\nDepartment of Social Welfare giving their immense contribution by Launching POSHAN Sahita, CBE Pamphlets, Identification and Tracking of Children with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) Children Development of Kitchen Gardens in Anganwadi Centre and Low-Cost Recipe Booklet during in the POSHAN Maah 2020. Further, in convergence with Department of Health & Family Welfare, PGIMER and Home Science Collage various Webinars are being organised on the topics like Nutrition Rich Food, Anaemia, Diarrhoea Preventions of Malnutrition, especially Severely Acute Malnutrition SAM children during and after pandemic, Importance of 1000 Days and Mal-Nutrition. Municipal Corporation Digital Poshan Panchayat\/Ward Meeting, Online Ward Sabha (once in a week) Prabhat Pheri, POSHAN Walk along with Self-help Groups. Plantation drive for promotion of Kitchen gardens and main focus on plants like Moringa, Brinjal, variety of Leafy vegetables etc. at all AWCs and community level in convergence with Department of Horticulture.
\nThis POSHAN Maah will be organized with full devotion and spirit with precautionary measures against COVID-19. Series of activities are undertaken in the Anganwadi Centres to sensitize the citizens, enhance their participation and to associate them with the objective of eliminating malnutrition.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
