After an appeal by Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma yesterday, a total of 50125 persons got vaccinated in mega vaccination drive organised at more than 300 venues in district Ludhiana today.<\/p>\n

While thanking the residents, the DC urged the residents, especially those aged 15-18 years to get vaccinated in the interest of the society. Sharma also visited a Covid vaccination camp at BCM School in Basant Avenue, here today, where he not only interacted with the children, but also urged them to motivate their friends regarding vaccination.<\/div>\n

He said that both his daughters aged between 15-18 years are also vaccinated.<\/div>\n

He said that on one hand where 102% of the eligible beneficiaries have received first dose, only 64% persons have received second dose, which means 36% (around 10 lakh persons) are yet to become fully vaccinated.<\/div>\n

The DC urged the residents to get vaccinated at the earliest, else their would not only pose threat for themselves, but also for their families. He said that out of 81 covid deaths that took place in January this year, 80% of victims were either unvaccinated or had missed their second dose.<\/div>\n
