Tejinder Singh Dhindsa, Judge Punjab &amp; Haryana High Court-cum- Executive Chairman, Punjab State Legal Services Authority and under the guidance of Sh. Tarsem Mangla, Ld. District &amp; Sessions Judge cum Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala, National Lok Adalat pertaining to all types of cases (except non compoundable criminal cases) was held in District Patiala on 14.5.2022.\u00a0\u00a0On the eve of National Lok Adalat, 31 judicial benches ( Patiala 21, Rajpura 05 Nabha 02, Samana 03) were constituted in District Patiala. One co-ordinate bench was constituted at Police Station, Women Cell, Patiala to dispose of private complaints filed prior to the registration of FIRs. Separate Bench presided over by Sh. Rajan Gupta was also constituted for speedy disposal of pending cases in the Permanent Lok Adalat (Public Utility Services), Patiala. \u00a0\u00a0In this National Lok\u00a0 Adalat,\u00a0\u00a012293\u00a0cases were taken up under different categories and \u00a010840 \u00a0cases were settled through mutual compromise involving amount of Rs. 412861182\/-.\u00a0 It saved not only time and\u00a0 money but also brought them peace of mind free of cost.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"entry-title\"><span style=\"color: #993300\"><a style=\"color: #993300\" href=\"https:\/\/newsmakhani.com\/sukhbir-singh-badal-slams-export-ban-on-wheat\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">READ MORE :-SUKHBIR SINGH BADAL SLAMS EXPORT BAN ON WHEAT<\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>During this National Lok Adalat, Sh. Tarsem Mangla, Ld. District and Sessions Judge Patiala and Ms Sushma Devi, CJM\/Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala visited the benches of this National Lok Adalat and encouraged the parties to settle their dispute amicably.<\/p>\n<p>Sh. Tarsem Mangla, Ld. District and Sessions Judge further told about the benefits of Lok Adalats, Sh. Tarsem Mangla, Ld.\u00a0 District &amp; Sessions Judge, Patiala told that when a case is settled in Lok Adalat, its award becomes final and no appeal lies against it. Moreover, court fees (if any paid ) is refunded to parties and parties to dispute get speedy disposal of their dispute and that too as per their own mutually settled terms. So, there is a win-win situation for both the parties. Primary objective of the Lok Adalats is to settle the disputes amicably through compromise, so as to save the time and money of the parties and to reduce personal enmity between them.
