\u00a0Tribute paid to Martyrs on Police Commemoration Day at SAS Nagar<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

—-Tribute paid to 261 policemen who died last year<\/p>\n

SAS \u00a0Nagar, October 21:<\/p>\n

The responsibility for the internal security of the country lies in the hands of the police.\u00a0 Only the temper of the police can maintain the security of the country.\u00a0 These views were expressed by D.I.G.\u00a0 Rupnagar Range Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar while addressing the gathering on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day at the District Administrative Complex of district Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar.\u00a0 Police Commemoration Day was started on 21st October 1959 in memory of the CRPF jawans who were martyred on the China border while patrolling in Ladakh valley.
\nDIG said that policemen sacrifice their lives for the sake of the country while performing their duties, to remember their martyrdom, tributes are paid to them on Police Commemoration Day.\u00a0 During the last year, 261 soldiers of police and paramilitary forces have been martyred in India.\u00a0 He said that “I salute the youth who have sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country.\u00a0 We should all remember the sacrifices they made. \u00a0”
\nMr. Bhullar said that Punjab Police is one such force which has made a name for itself in the world by fighting against extremism and the credit goes to our brave officers and jawans.\u00a0 During the extremism in Punjab, police officers and jawans have brought peace by giving martyrdoms, we should always remember their martyrdoms and acknowledge their dreams so that the pride of the country should always held high.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Amit Talwar, SSP Mr. Vivek Sheel Soni also paid tribute to the martyrs by placing garlands\/wreaths. SSP Mr. Viveksheel Soni said that the families of the martyrs are our own families and the police department stands with the families of the martyrs in every moment of sorrow and happiness.\u00a0 He invited the police officers and jawans to take guidance from the martyrs and perform their duties with more devotion to public service. Before this, two minute silence was observed and salute was also given to the martyrs.<\/p>\n

The names of martyrs were read by SP (HQ) Mr. Ajinder Singh.<\/p>\n

\u00a0On this occasion, Sandeep Kumar Singla, Additional District Sessions Judge, Baljinder Singh Mann, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, all SPs, DSPs and Inspectors of the district, police jawans and the families of the martyred jawans also paid floral tributes to the martyred Jawans.<\/span><\/div>\n
