Martyr Nirmaljit Singh Sekhon, a native of the village Issewal in Dakha had sacrificed his life during the Indo-Pak War of 1971.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"entry-title\"><a href=\"https:\/\/newsmakhani.com\/brothers-from-village-alkara-script-piscean-success-story-earn-rs-10-lacs-per-month\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">READ MORE &#8211; BROTHERS FROM VILLAGE ALKARA SCRIPT \u201cPISCEAN\u201d SUCCESS STORY, EARN RS 10 LACS PER MONTH<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik along with AOC Sandeep Chaudhary paid tributes to him by laying wreaths while the Punjab Police and Air force presented the Guard of Honour to the Martyr. A two-minute silence was also observed during the ceremony.Wing Commander Sonia Maithani, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rahul Chaba, SDM Gurbir Singh Kohli and other Air Force officers besides family members of the martyr were also present.<\/p>\n<p>Martyr Nirmaljit Singh Sekhon, born on July 17, 1943 was commissioned in the Indian Air Force on July 04, 1967. During the Indo-Pak war of 1971, Srinagar Air Field was attacked by a wave of six Pakistani aircraft on December 14, 1971.Flying Officer Nirmaljit Singh Sekhon despite being under attack displayed exceptional flying skills and took off to counter the enemy attack.
