Today, a Community Policing Programme – \u2018SAMAVESH\u2019 was launched by Sh. Banwari Lal
\nPurohit, the Hon\u2019ble Governor Punjab cum Administrator, UT, Chandigarh and flagged-off 52
\nnew motorbikes in collaboration with Hero Motor Pvt. Ltd. at Tagore Theatre, Sector 18,
\nChandigarh. Sh. Dharam Pal, IAS, Advisor to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Sh. Praveer Ranjan, IPS, DGP, UT, Chandigarh, Sh. Anup Gupta, Mayor, UT, Chandigarh, Sh. Nitin Yadav, Home Secretary, UT, Chandigarh Sh. R.K. Singh, IPS, IGP\/UT, Ms. Manisha Chaudhary, IPS, SSP\/Traffic & Security, Ms. Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, SSP\/UT, Sh. Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP\/HQR and about 600 audience including members of Samavesh Committee as well as area wise Municipal Councilors were present at the inaugural function. DGP, UT, Chandigarh delivered the welcome address and given overview of the Samavesh programme.<\/p>\n

The Samavesh Kendras are established to provide police services at one desk to enhance
\nthe efficiency and effective policing at all levels and especially at the Police Station level. TheSamavesh caters to collect all the data \/ information at a common platform. It provides\u00a0 a physical space to the citizens to avail police services and shatter their concerns with the police officers. The Samavesh Kendras will play a key role in improving image of the police and police public relationship. The efficient and dignified delivery of services is the uniqueness of Samavesh Kendras like easy to approach, Front end of Police Station \/ other offices, clean and neat setup, Air-Conditioned environment, facility of toilet, recreation, well trained policemen in civvies. The Police Station wise Committees will now act as Advisory Committees to SHO\u2019s & SSP, Chandigarh Police. The General Public will also help in various dispute resolutions. Thefollowing services will be available at Samavesh Kendras:-

\n2. Complaint registration
\n3. Character Verification
\n4. Employee Verification
\n5. Tenant Verification
\n6. Servant Verification
\n7. Lost Article report
\n8. Locked house registration
\n9. Passport verification
\n10. Know the status of complaints\/case
\n11. Application for horse riding school
\n12. Application for shooting range
\n13. Police clearance certificate
\n14. Senior citizen sticker.<\/p>\n

Hon\u2019ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator of UT Chandigarh addressed the
\naudience and encouraged the Samavesh Advisory Committee members to take join hands with police in resolving the petty issues of the citizens and also congratulated the DGP UT for this initiative. DGP\/UT presented the momentos to Sh. Pramod Kumar, Director IDC and Sh. Aniket, Hero Motor Pvt Ltd for their assistance to Chandigarh police.
