With a view to ensure easy availability of \u00a0crop residue management machinery in plenty to the farmers of the district SAS Nagar, Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain handed over 23 Surface Seeder Machines to the Panchayats and Cooperative Societies on Thursday at District Administrative Complex, Mohali.<\/p>\n

She said that we have 184 applications for the Supply of these machines and with the first lot received from the manufacturers, we have started its delivery to the applicant Panchayats and Cooperative societies on priority so that the farmers could be benefited during wheat sowing.<\/p>\n

She said that the Surface Seeder is a newly introduced Crop Residue Management Machine recommended and tested by Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana as an alternative to earlier Smart Seeder Machines. The speciality of the newly introduced Machine is this, it could be operated with a less horse power tractor (45 hp) as compared to the need of a big horse power for earlier machinery. The machine can sow 1.5 acres in one hour.<\/p>\n

She said that the machine is being provided to the individual farmers at 50 percent subsidy while to groups, panchayats and Cooperative Societies at 80 percent of subsidy.<\/p>\n

She added that as the machine is used after the Harvesting of paddy crop, so it would be much more beneficial to the farmers in sowing wheat crop. This machine is able to dispose of the crop residue left over by the Combine harvesters by further cluttering them to fine pieces that would work as much cover too.<\/p>\n

Appealing the farmers to use these new machines maximum to manage stubble as well as sowing wheat combindly, she said that they can call helpline numbers 0172-2219505 and 2219506 for checking availability of CRM Machinery in their close vicinity.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
