Ludhiana, November 6-<\/p>\n

Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Surabhi Malik today called upon the farmers to adopt stubble management practices to protect environment and humen health in the larger Public interest.<\/p>\n

Reviewing the stubble burning cases in the district, the DC said that administration was already adopted zero tolerance policy against farm fire incidents as strict action was being taken against those involved in burning crop residue including red entry in revenue record, imposition of environmental compensation, and others.<\/p>\n

She stated that the administration has been keeping a close vigil over such incidents as a vast mechanism has already been evolved for this task. She mentioned that cluster level officers have been appointed by the administration to report such incidents so that quick action can be taken against the violators.<\/p>\n

The Deputy Commissioner added that the state government was providing the necessary assistance to farmers for managing their crop residue, hence they should join hands with the government in this initiative aimed at protecting our environment and humen health.<\/p>\n

On Monday, administration teams rushed the several locations where farm fires were reported and took preventive measures to control the fire. Malik further said that it was need of the hour to do away with stubble burning trend as it was leading to deterioration of our health and environment.<\/p>\n

The Deputy Commissioner also lauded the farmers who have adopted stubble burning practices through various means and urged the others to follow their footsteps.<\/p>\n

Earlier, SDMs visited the villages falling within their jurisdiction and held meeting with farmers to motivate them for shunning stubble burning practices. The daily announcements were also being made at the religious places appealing to farmers not to set their fields on fire.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
