\nDeputy Commissioner Aashika Jain while reviewing rural development works on Wednesday, directed the rural development and Panchayat Department officials to\u00a0 expedite the\u00a0 completion of\u00a0 the construction of 129 playgrounds in the district . She said that the Punjab Chief Minister’s priority agenda to make\u00a0 Playgrounds available for rural youths shall be implemented dedicatedly and diligently within the stipulated period.<\/div>\n
\nShe said that the Derabassi block has a target of setting up 36 playgrounds while Kharar has 26. Likewise, Majri Block would have 38 while Mohali block 29. A total budget of Rs 386.94 lakh has been allocated for the work. Terming completion of 30 playgrounds so far, she directed the BDPOs to expedite the work.<\/div>\n
\nTaking stock of Saanjha Jal Talab in all blocks, she applauded the progress shown by Derabassi block by completing all 21 while instructed others to complete the rest of the 20 out of the total 80.<\/div>\n
\nShe further said that under MGNREGA a target of expenditure for the current fiscal was fixed for Rs 3522 lakh, out of which 2588 lakh has been achieved that contributes to 70 Percent. Similarly, against the target of generation of Mandays of 770000, as many as 565815 Mandays have been generated so far which contributes to 80 percent.<\/div>\n
\nUnder Swachh Bharat Mission, all the 336 villages of the district have been declared ODF plus villages. Now working ahead 33 Villages have been marked for solid waste management while 323 for liquid waste management.<\/div>\n

Similarly, against the target of 500 of Pardhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (Gramin), 385 beneficiaries have availed all the three instalments.<\/div>\n
\nA total of 34.5 acres of gram panchayat land has been identified for agro Forestry, she
\nfurther said. Additional Deputy Commisioner (Rural Development) Sonam Chaudhary, SDMs Himanshu Mahajan, Chandrajyoti Singh, Gurmandar Singh, AC (UT) Davy Goyal, DDPO Amarinder Pal Singh Chauhan were also present in the meeting.<\/div>\n
