In order to enrol maximum number of voters for Gurdwara Board Elections (SGPC) , District Administration sensitising the eligible voters to come forward before the deadline (February 29, 2024) for registration as a Voter.<\/div>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Electoral Officer, Mrs Aashika Jain said that the number is increasing day by day with the concerted and consisted\u00a0 efforts at various levels. Besides holding special enrollment camps at Gurdwara Sahiban, the BLOs have also been roped in alongwith Patwaris and Municipal Staff. The BLOs have also assisting the Patwaris and Municipal Staff in house to house visit.<\/div>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 Last time the total voters enrolled under Gurdwara Board Elections were about 70000 and the district has set a target to catch each and every eligible voter this time.<\/div>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 Eligible voters should fulfil the following criterion; Having 21 years or more of age, Keshadhari Sikhs, Non-trimmer, Non-shaver, Non-alcoholic and Non-smockers.<\/div>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 She said that anyone fulfilling the eligible criterion can submit his\/her form to Halka Patwari (in rural areas) and the Municipal Council Office (in the case of urban localities).<\/div>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The Sub Divisional Magistrates of the concerned sub division has been designated as Revising Authority Officers besides Revenue Officers as Assistant Revising Authority Officers, she added. In case of any problem or query, one can contact these officers too.<\/div>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Listing the number of enrollment, she said that the previous day the total number was 47898 and we are insisting upon catching the eligible voters on holidays as per their convenience. Out of these enrolled persons, 27418 females and 20480 males have submitted their forms, she added.<\/div>\n
