FDP Concludes at PU<\/h2>\n

Chandigarh, November 24<\/p>\n

The 7-days online Faculty Development Programme organized by the\u00a0UGC-Human Resource Development Centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh\u00a0under the aegis of RUSA 2.00, from 17- 23.11.2020\u00a0on the theme Enhancing Visibility & Quality of Research Output and Research Ethics,\u00a0concluded today.<\/p>\n

The theme of the program was very relevant in the current research scenario, said Dr. Neeraj Kumar Singh, Deputy Librarian and the course coordinator.\u00a0The FDP was attended by 35 participants including faculty members, librarians, and research scholars from various states such as Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, New Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Punjab and Chandigarh. Every day there were 3 technical sessions, a review session and an assignment was given to the participants. Eminent national and international resource persons from academic and publishing industries from different organizations were invited.<\/p>\n

The chief guest for the function was Prof Avinash Chandra Pandey,Director, Inter University Accelerator Centre (IUAC),New Delhi. IUAC is an autonomous body of UGC established in 1984. He dwelled in detail on ethics not only in research but also in everyday life. He spoke on the theme and explained the concept taking examples from the Gita and the current scenario. A good university teaches, whereas a great university transforms- a good university produces graduates but a great university produces leaders. The participants of the course gave their feedback about the program and were of the view that they have learnt many new concepts and ideas during the program and were going to benefit their institutions in many ways. At the end Dr Neeraj Singh presented a brief report of the course followed by the vote of thanks.<\/p>\n
