Leader of Opposition (LoP) Sunil Sharma, launched a strong attack on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, accusing him of distorting facts, twisting history, and using the demand for statehood to hide governance failures.<\/p>\n

LoP Sunil Sharma, accompanied by J&K BJP General Secretary Anwar Khan, while addressing a press conference at Srinagar, termed Omar Abdullah\u2019s renewed statehood pitch a \u201cpolitical diversion\u201d from his record of corruption, civilian harm, and suppression of dissent.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you want statehood to become a tool to justify the killing of innocent Kashmiris?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n

Under Omar\u2019s rule, fear prevailed, schools were shut, and civilians\u2014not militants\u2014were targeted, he said.<\/p>\n

He reminded that statehood existed under the National Conference between 1982 and 2014, yet those years saw rampant corruption and human rights violations.<\/p>\n

Sunil Sharma said that the people of J&K do not want a statehood where dissent is silenced and parents fear sending children to school.<\/p>\n

Sharma accused the NC of introducing draconian laws like the Public Safety Act (PSA) and pellet guns, leading to the highest civilian deaths in J&K\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

The NC has no moral ground to talk about democracy or human rights, he asserted.<\/p>\n

In contrast, the Leader of Opposition praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s policies as humane and transformative.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnder Modi Ji, not a single local youth has joined militancy in years. This is not fear, but trust. People now believe in democracy, not bullets,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Refuting Omar\u2019s claims of bureaucratic interference, Sharma called them \u201cbaseless and politically motivated.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNinety-seven Cabinet decisions have been approved by the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s office in the past year\u2014from free electricity to jobs. Yet key files remain stuck in Omar\u2019s own office,\u201d he revealed.<\/p>\n

Sharma declared that the era of dynastic politics and false narratives is over. Jammu & Kashmir stands with peace, development, and justice under PM Modi\u2019s leadership.<\/p>\n
