F<\/b>eroz Khan lays foundation stone of\u00a0<\/b>Agriculture Processing and Marketing Center at Kurbathang<\/b>\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

KARGIL DECEMBER\u00a018, 2020:\u00a0Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan laid the foundation stone of Agriculture Processing and Marketing Center at Kurbathang here today.<\/p>\n

The project is being constructed at a cost of Rs 252.66 lacs under the Special Development Package (SDP) and will play a major role in agricultural processing and marketing opportunities to the farmers\u2019 community in the district.<\/p>\n

Executive Councillor for\u00a0Horticulture Aga Syed Mujtaba Mosavi,\u00a0Executive Councillor for\u00a0Works\u00a0Mubarak Shah Nagvi,\u00a0Executive Councillor for Rural Development and Zanskar Affairs Er Phunsog Tashi, Executive Councillor for Agriculture Muhammad Ali Chandan, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary, President Municipal Committee, Kargil Zaheer Hussain Babar, Chief Agriculture Officer Kargil Kacho Muhammad Ali Khan, officers of other line departments, other district officers and the staff members of Agriculture Department\u00a0were present\u00a0during the inauguration.<\/p>\n

The Chief Agriculture Officer Kargil informed on the occasion that the\u00a0Agriculture Processing and Marketing Center\u00a0will be equipped with the necessary facilities of grading, packaging, grinding and other value addition of pulses, cereals and vegetables.<\/p>\n

Later, the CEC along with the Executive Councillors and the Deputy Commissioner\/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil also launched the distribution of UV Films among the registered Self Help Groups (SHGs) of Agriculture Department in the district.<\/p>\n

The CEC and other dignitaries distributed 100 numbers of UV Films among the registered SHGs of Kargil (A) Zone on the occasion while 3000 UV Films in total are being distributed in the district in different phases among the registered SHGs, Agri Farm Schools and progressive farmers during the coming days.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a training cum awareness programme was also organized by the Department of Agriculture Kargil during which the officers of Agriculture and other line departments and the scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Kargil enlightened the farmers about different Government schemes available with the respective departments for benefit of the farming community.<\/p>\n

The farmers were also imparted training and valuable information on the proper upkeep and maintenance of soil and proper sowing and irrigational techniques for better farm productivity.<\/p>\n
