On the Second Day of the Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav folk artist performed their art

FEBRUARY 24TH<\/div>\n

The second edition of Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav (RSM) Organised by Ministry of Culture, Government of India \u00a0is being held at Darjeeling, West Bengal from 22-24 February, 2021.RashtriyaSanskriti Mahotsav is a flagship campaign of the Government and epitomises the spirit of Ek Bharat Sreshtha Bharat as well as Unity in Diversity. On the Second Day of the Mahotsav yeaterday,there were several spectacular programmes including performances by Shane Hyrapiet, Kamran Khurshid (Voices), North eastern band of Daniel Engti (Jambili band), Sounak Chattopadhyay and Sapphire Dance Troupe. Local Dance Troupe Presented the Rai Sili Dance, Chyabrung Dance, Thali Maruni and Khukuri Dance.<\/p>\n

There was a huge crowd who witnessed and enjoyed the programme. Visitors toured the craft stalls, interacted with the artisans and shopped several products. The Visitors also enjoyed the creative \u00a0ambience and took photographs with all the artistic installations especially those of magnificent Dokra art.<\/p>\n

Union Minister of State for Culture & Tourism (Independent Charge) Shri Prahlad Singh Patel inaugurated the three days Mahotsav on 22nd<\/sup>\u00a0February 2021 in Darjeeling. He highlighted the importance of Culture for the youth and how it can engage gainfully the young artists from various areas including rural areas.<\/p>\n

The 3-day event in Darjeeling began with a choreographic presentation by Odissi Vision and Movement Centre, followed by recitals by Dona Ganguly (Odissi), Michael (Saxophone), Shayne Hyrapiet (Band).<\/p>\n

RashtriyaSanskritiMahotsav, the flagship festival of Culture Ministry has been organized since 2015 with the active participation of Seven Zonal Culture Centres \u00a0andhas been playing a pivotal role to take the vibrant culture of India out to the masses instead of confining to auditoria and galleries. It has been instrumental in showcasing, folk and tribal art, dance, music, cuisines & culture of one state in other states reinforcing the cherished goal of \u201cEk Bharat Shreshtha Bharat\u201d and at the same time providing an effective platform to the artists and artisans to support their livelihood. Earlier\u00a0RashtriyaSanskritik Mahotsavhave been held till date since November, 2015 in various states and cities such as Delhi, Varanasi, Bengaluru, Tawang, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tehri and Madhya Pradesh.<\/p>\n
