RAMBAN, APRIL 25<\/strong>: Awareness events were today held across Ramban district to mark the World Malaria Day Malaria Day, 2021.<\/div>\n
The Health Department disseminated awareness about the preventive measures and treatment of deadly disease.<\/div>\n
World Malaria Day was also observed in other medical blocks of the district\u00a0 \u00a0including\u00a0 \u00a0Gool, Banihal,\u00a0 Ukhral and Batote\u00a0 on the theme\u00a0 \u201cReaching the zero malaria targets\u201d .<\/div>\n
The major awareness programme was held at District Hospital Ramban, which was presided over by the Chief Medical Officer,\u00a0 \u00a0Dr. Mohammad\u00a0 Fareed Bhat. Several doctors and paramedical workers made people aware about the precautions against Malaria.<\/div>\n
In his address, the CMO said that the day aims at taking urgent action for the control of the deadly disease. Malaria is a life-threatening disease that is caused by the bites of infected mosquitoes. It is the Female Anopheles mosquitoes who spread the Plasmodium parasite through their saliva, which causes malaria, he added.<\/div>\n
He further said that it is the responsibility of every citizen to contribute to eradicating this disease which is possible with common efforts by all the stakeholders.<\/div>\n
The CMO advised the participants to ensure cleanliness and sanitation in their houses and surroundings beside personal hygienic conditions to minimize the possibilities of spreading Malaria in their respective areas.<\/div>\n
Referring to Covid pandemic, the CMO urged the participants to follow the Covid SoPs including wearing face masks, maintaining social distancing, frequently washing hands etc.<\/div>\n
