He said that there are 5226 active patients in the district at present.<br \/>\nHe said that sincere efforts are being made to keep people safe from Covid-19. He said that a total of 401 patients (343 new patients from district Ludhiana and 58 from other states\/districts) have tested positive in the last 24 hours.<br \/>\nHe further said that till date, a total of 1343511 samples have been taken, out of which a report of 1343106 samples have been received, of which 1248615 samples were found negative while reports of 464 samples were pending. He said that now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 83594, while 10897 patients belong to other districts\/states.<br \/>\nHe said that unfortunately, 24 patients lost their lives today (14 from district Ludhiana, 3 from Sangrur, 2 from Ferozepur while one each from districts Jalandhar, Moga, Barnala, Nawanshahar and state Jammu &amp; Kashmir). Now, the total number of persons who lost their lives including 1979 people from Ludhiana and 977 from other districts.<br \/>\nHe said that whenever the District Administration and Health Department Ludhiana finds out about any positive or suspected COVID 19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing.
