SHOPIAN, MAY 29, 2021<\/strong>: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today during the media briefing said that the need of the hour is that the recommended guidelines issued from time to time be followed in letter and spirit to save the precious lives.<\/div>\n
The DC stated that whether restrictions are continued after 31st of May, 2021 or not and even if there is lockdown or unlock, the people should strictly adhere to Covid-19 SOPs and guidelines to contain the spread of Covid pandemic.<\/div>\n
He said that in Shopian district inspite of a significant decline in Covid-19 positive cases, people need not to venture from their homes unnecessarily. He appealed to the people to take an immunity boosting diet to keep themselves healthy and strong to fight against the virus and defeat it completely.<\/div>\n
The DC said that the vaccination process in the district remained successful and the people are themselves coming forward to getting vaccinated and are cooperating with the District Administration in each and every respect.<\/div>\n
He said that due to relentless testing and vaccination drives across the district there was an overall reduction in Covid cases, however, there is need to be extra cautious by strictly adhering to Covid-19 Appropriate Behaviour at all levels. He said vaccination centers have been established across the City to cover the rest of the targeted population.<\/div>\n
The DC said that all the health functionaries are working round the clock and are always on their toes to meet any eventuality and facilitate the people with great care and provide them all the medical facilities they need. He urged the people to get vaccinated at an earliest to curb the Covid-19.<\/div>\n
The District Administration Shopian has set up Covid care centres at all the Panchayats of the district with all medical equipment, besides medical and paramedical staff to manage and contain the Covid-19 effectively in the rural areas, DC added.<\/div>\n
