RAMBAN, 26 JUNE,2021-<\/strong><\/div>\n
Motor Vehicle Department, Ramban today recovered Rs 8500 fine from vehicle operators for violating rules of MV Act and Covid protocols.<\/div>\n
The department has challaned 50 vehicles in the last one week on different routes of the district.<\/div>\n
An enforcement team led by Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Shafqat Majid, conducted a massive checking drive and seized two vehicles and booked others under Motor Vehicles Act in Banihal and Khari area.<\/div>\n
The team also realized a fine of Rs. 8500 from violators for overloading, overcharging and violation for various extant rules of Motor Vehicles Act.<\/div>\n
The enforcement team urged private transporters\u00a0 \u00a0to adhere to 50% restriction on authorized seating capacity as per the COVID-19 safety protocol.<\/div>\n
According to the ARTO total 50 vehicles were fined, 5 were\u00a0 \u00a0seized on different routes in the district during the current week.\u00a0 \u00a0 20 vehicles mostly of Sumo and Tavera were fined for indulging in overloading\/overcharging especially for not implementing Covid protocols, whereas three wheelers were also booked for violating route permit.<\/div>\n
The ARTO directed drivers and conductors to get themselves tested frequently besides taking vaccination doses\u00a0 to avoid Covid infection and not allow unmasked people in their vehicles.<\/div>\n
