A meeting of the Council of Ministers was held in Mantralaya today under the chairmanship of CM Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The cabinet decided to conduct a pilot scheme for distribution of fortified rice under the Targeted Public Distribution System of the Government of India in Singrauli district to combat anemia and micronutrient deficiency. Under this, efforts will be made to cure serious health problems like anaemia and malnutrition by fortifying rice with iron, folic acid and vitamin B-12. This scheme will be operational till 2022-23. The rice given to the beneficiaries under the scheme will be distributed by mixing with fortified kernels. Rice will be supplied to the beneficiaries at the rate of Re 1 per kg.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
