{"id":83078,"date":"2021-07-15T18:53:25","date_gmt":"2021-07-15T13:23:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsmakhani.com\/?p=83078"},"modified":"2021-07-15T18:53:25","modified_gmt":"2021-07-15T13:23:25","slug":"75000-crore-released-to-states-and-uts-with-legislature-as-gst-compensation-shortfall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsnarad.com\/hi\/75000-crore-released-to-states-and-uts-with-legislature-as-gst-compensation-shortfall\/","title":{"rendered":"75,000 crore released to States and UTs with Legislature as GST Compensation shortfall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"qtranxs-available-languages-message qtranxs-available-languages-message-hi\">\u0915\u094d\u0937\u092e\u093e \u0915\u0930\u0947\u0902, \u092f\u0939 \u0938\u092e\u093e\u091a\u093e\u0930 \u0906\u092a\u0915\u0947 \u0905\u0928\u0941\u0930\u094b\u0927 \u0915\u0940 \u092d\u093e\u0937\u093e \u092e\u0947\u0902 \u0909\u092a\u0932\u092c\u094d\u0927 \u0928\u0939\u0940\u0902 \u0939\u0948\u0964 <a href=\"https:\/\/newsmakhani.com\/en\/\">\u0915\u0943\u092a\u092f\u093e \u092f\u0939\u093e\u0901 \u0926\u0947\u0916\u0947\u0902\u0964<\/a><\/p><p><\/p>\n<div class=\"text-center\">\n<h4><span id=\"ltrSubtitle\">Almost 50 % of the total shortfall for the entire year released in a single instalment<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/h4>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ReleaseDateSubHeaddateTime text-center pt20\"><strong>DELHI : 15 JUL 2021<\/strong><\/div>\n<div class=\"pt20\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>Ministry of Finance has released today \u20b975,000 crore to the States and UTs with Legislature under the back-to-back loan facility in lieu of GST Compensation.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<strong>This release is in addition to normal GST compensation being released every 2 months out of actual cess collection.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Subsequent to the 43<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0GST Council Meeting held on 28.05.2021, it was decided that the Central Government would borrow \u20b91.59 lakh crore and release it to States and UTs with Legislature on a back-to-back basis to meet the resource gap due to the short release of Compensation on account of inadequate amount in the Compensation Fund.<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>This amount is as per the principles adopted for a similar facility in FY 2020-21, where an amount of \u20b91.10 lakh crore was released to States under a similar arrangement.<\/strong>\u00a0This amount of \u20b91.59 lakh crore would be over and above the compensation in excess of \u20b91 lakh crore(based on cess collection) that is estimated to be released to States\/UTs with Legislature during this financial year.\u00a0<strong>The sum total of \u20b92.59 lakh crore is expected to exceed the amount of GST compensation accruing in FY 2021-22.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All eligible States and UTs (with Legislature) have agreed to the arrangements of funding of the compensation shortfall under the back-to-back loan facility.\u00a0 For effective response and management of COVID-19 pandemic and a step-up in capital expenditure all States and UTs have a very important role to play. For assisting the States\/UTs in their endeavour, Ministry of Finance has frontloaded the release of assistance under the back-to-back loan facility during FY 2021-22 \u20b975, 000\u00a0<strong>crore (almost 50 % of the total shortfall for the entire year)<\/strong>\u00a0released today in a single instalment. The balance amount will be released in the second half of 2021-22 in steady instalments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The release of \u20b975,000 crore being made now is funded from borrowings of GoI in 5-year securities, totalling \u20b968,500 crore and 2-year securities for \u20b96,500 crore issued in the current financial year, at a Weighted Average Yield of 5.60 and 4.25 percent per annum respectively.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is expected that this release will help the States\/UTs in planning their public expenditure among other things, for improving, health infrastructure and taking up infrastructure projects.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>State\/ UTs wise amount released as \u201cBack to Back Loan in lieu of GST Compensation Shortfall\u201d on 15.07.2021<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0(in Rs.
