WORK ON LAYING PIPES FOR CARRYING TREATED WATER TO FIELDS TO BEGIN SOON, ADC<\/strong>

\nTreated water from the sewer treatment plant on Barnala – Bajakhana Road will irrigate 5.40 hectares of agriculture land. Pipes will be laid from the sewer treatment plant catering to the irrigation needs of around 200 farmers of nearby areas.
\nADC (General) Mr Amit Bamby said during his visit to the sewer treatment plant today. Interacting with the officials of sewerage board during visit to STP today, Mr Bamby said that the work on laying pipes will begin next month.\"\"
\n\u201cUnder the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Mr Tej Partap Singh Phoolka, the work will begin next month on laying pipes. This will be Rs 6 cr project that is expected to complete within 6 months of its commencement,\u201d he said.
\nThe sewerage treatment plant treats sewerage water of the entire Barnala city. With the earnest efforts of Congress senior leader Mr Kewal Singh Dhillon the project was started in the year 2020. The entire precinct including sewerage treatment plant, tanks, offices etc were constructed at a cost of Rs 92 cr. Since its inception, the STP has provided major relief to the city residents from problem of water logging, especially during the monsoon, which has been a dram project of Mr Dhillon.\"\"
\nMr Bamby added that pipes of 19048 meters length will be laid to carry the treated water to agriculture farms, where water will be provided to around 200 farmers free of cost.
