The \u201c<strong>Go Greening\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0drive is to be provided the right impetus through launch of the \u00a0\u201c<strong><em>Vriksharopan Abhiyan<\/em>\u00a02021\u201d\u00a0<\/strong>on 19<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0August 2021 by the\u00a0<strong>\u00a0Union Minister of Coal, Mines and Parliamentary affairs Shri Pralhad Joshi<\/strong>in the presence of\u00a0<strong>Minister of State for Coal, Mines and Railways Shri Raosaheb Patil Danve<\/strong><strong>.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0It is expected that more than 300 plantation sites in and around\u00a0 coalfields across the country will be connected during the\u00a0<em>Abhiyan on 19<sup>th<\/sup><\/em>through live Video Conferencing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vriksharopan Abhiyan 2021,\u00a0<\/strong>which is one of the key events of\u00a0<strong><em>Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>celebrations in the coal sector, will surely bring environment sustainability in mining operations and help coal sector obtain social and environmental licence to operate, which will be very crucial in coming days when more mines will be opened up involving new players. Thus, our coal sector has to play a very crucial role in the\u00a0 foreseeable future in fulfilling the\u00a0 country\u2019s energy demand for meeting various developmental needs, at the same time, be responsible towards the\u00a0 environment and the society. In this\u00a0 backdrop, India\u2019s coal sector has been taking several innovative initiatives to promote sustainable mining.<\/p>\n<p>One of the key initiatives has been \u201c<strong>Go Greening\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0drive in and around mining areas thereby not only\u00a0 ameliorating\u00a0\u00a0 the local ecosystem but also creating additional carbon sink to mitigate the causes of climate change.
