The Add-On course in Cosmetology and Beauty Care at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, in collaboration with the college’s Women Development Cell, organised a 4-day workshop on Self Grooming. The resource persons for this hands-on workshop were Ms. Shalini, Nail Technician, Mr. Rajat, Hair Expert and the course’s faculty at the college Ms. Sarvjit Kaur and Ms. Priyanka Sharma. Ms. Shalini conducted session on nail art and also demonstrated the application of artificial nails. Mr. Rajat explained about latest hair cuts and styling, and later conducted a hands-on training session. Ms. Sarvjit Kaur and Ms. Priyanka Sharma held sessions on self grooming, demonstrating techniques of skin care, hair care, etc. The workshop witnessed participation of over 65 students.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava expressed appreciation for this initiative to help students attain positive self image through personal grooming. She highlighted the importance of the workshop as she pointed out that grooming is an important life skill and imperative for career development as well.
