Operation of CM District Yoga Training Centres in the State

Formation of Yoga Committees in 4,000 Villages and 356 Urban Wards

In the state, the School Education Department is carrying out the work of awareness and publicity for yoga. For this, the Madhya Pradesh Yoga Commission has also been formed. School Education Minister Shri Uday Pratap Singh is the Chairman of the Yoga Commission. The formation of District Yoga Committees in 52 districts of the state and Block-level Yoga Committees in 313 development blocks has been completed. In these districts, yoga committees have been formed in about 4,000 villages and in 356 wards of urban areas.

Yoga Commission Portal

The portal of the Madhya Pradesh Yoga Commission, www.mpyogaayog.in, has been developed and is being operated on NIC. On the portal, complete information about the Yoga Commission, personal details of district yoga in-charges and block yoga in-charges, and details of yoga instructors who are assisting in the ‘Yoga Se Nirog’ (Healthy through Yoga) program are displayed. For the systematic operation of Chief Minister District Yoga Training Centers, letters have been written to collectors to provide suitable buildings and land. At present, Chief Minister District Yoga Training Centers are being operated in 14 districts — Gwalior, Morena, Datia, Rajgarh, Raisen, Sehore, Shajapur, Dewas, Neemuch, Seoni, Chhindwara, Narsinghpur, Damoh, and Shahdol.

Protocol Prepared for School Students

A 10-minute protocol has been prepared by the Madhya Pradesh Yoga Commission for school students. It includes asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation. The protocol has been provided to district yoga in-charges to be practiced during school prayer sessions. For the free yoga classes conducted by yoga committees formed in the districts, a one-hour yoga practice protocol has been prepared and provided to the concerned agency, based on which yoga practice is being conducted for the general public in the free yoga classes run by the yoga committees. The annual yoga calendar of the institution’s year-round yoga activities is issued every year by the Commissioner of Public Instruction. According to the released calendar, yoga activities are being conducted in the state. Preparations have also started for the International Yoga Day to be celebrated on 21 June 2025.
