Order issued for 8% hike in DA of government employees
October 22
Expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan for taking employee friendly decisions, Finance Minister Shri Jagdish Deora said that the State Government is committed for the welfare of the employees and respects their services and efficiency.
It is noteworthy that from January 2019, the employees were being given dearness allowance at the rate of 12% in the seventh pay scale. According to the announcement of the Chief Minister, now the dearness allowance rate has been increased by 8%. 20 percent DA will be payable as per 7th pay scale, after increasing it by 8 percent.
While increasing the dearness allowance, the Finance Department has given clear instructions regarding the payment of dearness allowance and said that no part of dearness allowance will be considered as salary for any purpose. All the departments have been directed to ensure that the expenditure incurred on payment of dearness allowance payable under the new orders does not exceed the sanctioned budget provision of the department concerned for the current year. Apart from this, it has also been decided that all such government servants who are hypothetically eligible for the annual increment for July 2020 or January 2021, shall be paid the arrears due as a result of the annual increment due from July 2020 to January 1, 2021, in two equal installments. The first installment will be paid in November 2021 and the second installment will be paid in March 2022.
