Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij has taken strict cognizance of the death of a young man named Rajesh Kumar by electric current/shock in a field in village Haibatpur, under police station Nigdu, district Karnal. He has issued orders to immediately suspend Mohit (SDO), Sunil (JE), Deepak, Ajit, Satyawan, and Vikas (linemen) with immediate effect.
Speaking to media persons today in Chandigarh, he said that Rajesh Kumar died after coming in contact with an electric wire while in the field. An FIR was filed on 06.07.2025 at Nigdu police station against Mohit (SDO), Sunil (JE), Deepak, Ajit, Satyawan, and Vikas (linemen). The complainant, Pradeep Kumar, had repeatedly informed these officials about the low-hanging wires in the field, but no action was taken, resulting in the tragic death of Rajesh Kumar.
He added that the wires were hanging just 5 feet above the ground, and the responsible employees did not raise it The farmer went to the field in the morning, came into contact with the wire, and died – a clear case of gross negligence. Thus, the employees were suspended immediately.

On Congress leader Deepender Hooda’s statement regarding irregularities in the HPSC, Sh.Vij said that, “Most people begin their day by praying, doing aarti, or brushing their teeth. But Deepender Hooda begins his day by abusing the government – that’s his daily routine. He tries to create issues out of nothing, and people don’t accept that anymore.
