CM Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid tributes to Dadabhai Naoroji, popularly known as The Grand Old Man of India, on his birth anniversary. Shri Chouhan garlanded the picture of Dadabhai Naoroji at his residence. Dadabhai Naoroji made a significant contribution for India’s independence. He is counted as one of the founders of political and social leadership in India. He pointed out the evils of colonial administration. He was an intellectual, educationist, economist, staunch nationalist, social reformer and teacher.

Dadabhai Naoroji played a major role in the establishment of several organizations such as the Royal Asiatic Society of Bombay and the East Indian Association in London. He was the first Indian to be a member of the British Parliament. He served as Member of Parliament in the United Kingdom, the House of Commons as a member of the Liberal Party. Dadabhai Noroji died on June 30, 1917.
