To mark the celebration of National Energy Conservation Day, the Sustainable Practices Committee of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh organised an online Quiz on the theme ‘Energy Conserved is Energy Generated’.

The event aimed to encourage students to adopt energy conservation practices and to motivate others to do the same for a sustainable future. The quiz covered various areas where it is possible to save energy on a day-to-day basis and also touched upon various efforts of the Government of India regarding energy efficiency and conservation in appliances, buildings, transportation, agriculture and so on. A total of 376 students registered for the online quiz.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava, an expert in Energy Economics, drew attention to the global shortage of energy resources and reiterated the importance of individual efforts in conserving energy that drives the world. She added that we need to judiciously conserve energy by substituting non-renewable energy resources with renewable ones and reducing the overall energy consumption.
