Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora announced that the District Administration will conduct a mock drill today, May 7, 2025. The mock drill will take place from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at on a specific location only, followed by a blackout drill from 8:00 PM to 8:30 PM in Ludhiana. He appealed to the public to cooperate with the administration during the exercise.
The long siren means a drill has started. Please follow these steps:
1. Stay calm – Don’t panic.
2. Stop what you are doing – Pay attention.
3. Listen to announcements – Follow instructions from police and authorities
4. Don’t use mobile too much – Keep lines free for emergency use.
5. Don’t spread rumours – Share only official news.
6. Stay in the safe place until you hear the short siren or are told it’s safe.
If it’s a blackout drill:
1. Switch off all lights – Inside and outside the house.
2. If in a vehicle, stop the vehicle and park at safe place
3. Close the curtains – so no light goes out.
4. Stay indoors – Don’t go outside.
5. Follow police or safety staff – Do what they say.
6. Listen to the radio, phone or TV– For news.
7. Stay quiet and calm – It keeps everyone safe.
8. Don’t use lifts – Use stairs if needed.
