“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is always connected with the people and shares in their joys and sorrows” – Anil Vij
“I would urge the opposition to help flood-affected people in whatever way they wish, instead of playing politics” – Vij
Chandigarh, 09 September 2025
Haryana’s Energy, Transport & Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij, today said that “from municipal councillors to the Chief Minister and up to the Prime Minister, all are actively on the ground to support and assist those affected by floods.”
Responding to media questions regarding Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s visit to flood-affected regions in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, Sh. Vij said that “The Prime Minister has always stayed connected with the people and shares in their joys and sorrows. This time, natural disasters have struck with greater intensity, particularly with frequent cloudburst incidents. When rainfall exceeds 100 mm in a single minute, it is classified as a cloudburst, and such heavy rain in the hills has flowed into the plains, worsening the flood situation.”
He further explained that both immediate relief and long-term solutions are being prioritized. He said that “Right now, our foremost focus is on providing drinking water, food supplies, and draining out floodwater. At the same time, planning is underway for permanent measures to mitigate such crises in the future. While suggesting the opposition, Sh. Vij said that “At a time of disaster, politics should be set aside. I would only urge the opposition to come forward and help flood-affected people in whatever way they wish.”
