DC Kargil reviews performance of banks in DLRC/DCC meeting

 KARGIL DECEMBER 29, 2020: In order to review the performance of banks under Annual Credit Plan 2020-2021 and to take stock of their performance under different Government sponsored loan schemes , Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary today chaired a meeting of the District Level Review Committee (DLRC)/District Consultative Committee (DCC) for the quarter ending September, 2020.
Lead District Manager Kargil Sarwan Kumar, representatives of banks operating in the district, officers of the line departments besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.

Threadbare discussion was held on various issues including the flow of credit to Priority Sector, issuance of KCCs, Bank and sector wise achievements in lending to Priority/Non-Priority Sectors under Annual Credit Plan , Bank wise position of Deposits/Advances in the district, review performance of key areas related to deposits and advances, financial inclusion plan and related issues.
The DC stressed the banks to reach out to the targeted beneficiaries to ensure that socio-economic status of deprived sections of the society is improved. He asked the departments to focus on more cases of far-flung areas and provide handholding to upcoming entrepreneurs.

Baseer also stressed for better coordination between bankers and Government departments for achieving the fixed targets. He asked them to work with added zeal to achieve the fixed targets both in priority and non-priority sectors.

While stressing banks and departments concerned to ensure timely sanctioning of credit loans under different schemes among the deserving beneficiaries, the DC asked them to sanction loans within a stipulated time frame  strictly on first-cum-first serve basis.

The DC directed the concerned authorities to extend financial assistance for development of social infrastructure, renewable energy, agriculture and MSMEs besides also ensuring to sanction loans among the deserved well in time so that maximum lot is benefited.
Earlier, the LDM, Kargil briefed the meeting about the performance and achievement of various banks during the financial year 2020-2021 in different sectors in the district.

The LDM informed the meeting that up to the quarter ending September, 2020 banks operating in the district have disbursed a total credit of Rs 109.55 crores under Priority Sector as against Annual Credit Plan Target (ACP) Rs 295.70 crores thereby achieving 37% of the target.

The DC instructed all bankers to clear the pendency of various Government sponsored schemes and thereby increase the achievement percentage of the ACP  in the district within 15 days of the current quarter of Financial Year 2020-2021. He further directed all banks and officers to create awareness about the Government sponsored schemes among the beneficiaries specially the PMEGP and KCC besides also bringing in transparency in sponsoring of loans to the public.
