Visit heritage, tourism potential sites, assure early redressal of peoples’ grievances

2020: In order to explore the possibilities for promotion and augmentation of tourism sector in Shargole Block, Executive Councillor for Health Muhammad Ali Chandan along with the Commissioner Secretary Health and Tourism Ladakh Rigzian Sampheal today made an extensive visit of several tourism and heritage potential sites in the area which included Shargole Gompa, Serjing Shagaran, Karamba Khar, Serdung Rgaldanchey Gompa, Rgyal Gompa, Wakha Khar, Graveyard of Babur Khan (Wakha Cho) and other locations.
The EC and the Commissioner Secretary Ladakh also visited the proposed site for construction of airport at Wakha, construction site of Primary Health Center (PHC) Shargole and also had detailed discussion regarding the progress of works presently taken in hand under various schemes in Shargole Block.
During the course of the tour, various public delegations also met the EC and the Commissioner Secretary and put forth their grievances and demands.
Responding to the demands, the EC and the Commissioner Secretary assured the delegations that all their genuine demands would be fulfilled at the earliest possible.
Meanwhile, the EC informed the Commissioner Secretary that there is urgent need for construction of a helipad to promote Tourism Sector in Shargole Block.
The Commissioner Secretary assured the EC that Tourism Department, UT Ladakh will make all possible efforts to promote and uplift Tourism Sector in the area. He urged the EC to submit a detailed proposal to the UT Administration regarding construction of helipad and other major projects for upliftment of tourism sector in Shargole Block so that the proposals could be approved and necessary funds are released accordingly.
