Chandigarh, August 20 – Work to the tune of Rs 55.03 crore was allotted in 2017 for laying underground pipe lines for drinking water under AMRUT Scheme in Ambala city constituency has been completed.
This information was given by Urban Local Bodies Minister, Sh. Anil Vij in a written reply laid on the Table of the House during the ongoing session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today.
He said that Atal Mission for Renewal and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) is a major project of the Government of India, under which 18 municipalities of Haryana have been included. Ambala is one of those cities. A State Annual Action Plan (SAAP) of Rs. 2565.74 crore was approved by the Government of India for the state of Haryana. He said that Rs 1814.13 crore have been spent on various works under this Project. Urban Local Bodies Department has put in efforts in implementation of AMRUT Scheme and has secured 7th position among all 36 States/UTs. The state has also received Rs. 20.79 crore as incentive from the Government of India for the achievement of reforms under AMRUT Scheme. An amount of Rs 73.02 crore under water supply scheme under AMRUT scheme in Ambala city/Sadar, Rs 133.99 crores in sewerage scheme part-1, Rs 17.78 crores under Ambala city sewerage scheme part-2 and Rs 14.42 crores under rainwater drainage scheme is being given.
He informed that the work of laying underground pipelines for drinking water under AMRUT scheme in Ambala city and Ambala Sadar constituency was allotted to M/s Brij Gopal Construction Company Private Limited by Municipal Corporation, Ambala. The total capital cost of the work is Rs.73.02 crore, out of which Rs.55.03 crore was earmarked for Ambala city and Rs.17.99 crore was earmarked for Ambala Sadar. He said that the work of laying water supply pipelines under AMRUT scheme in Ambala city has been completed as per the actual requirement of the work site. So far, an amount of Rs 53.56 crore has been spent on this work.
