Chandigarh, April 2 – The construction work of the country’s first Shri Krishna Ayush University will start soon. In a meeting chaired by Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal, it has been decided to appoint an Executive Agency for the construction of building of the University at a cost of Rs 500 crore. This agency will undertake planning, design, construction work, furniture, equipment, information technology arrangement and maintenance for the University.
Director General, AYUSH, Dr. Saket Kumar apprised about the action plan of the University during the meeting of High Level Committee constituted by the Haryana Government. In the meeting of this committee constituted under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal, Additional Chief Secretary, Power Department, Sh. P.K. Das, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance and Planning, Sh. T.V. S. N Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department, Sh. A.K. Singh were present.
It was appraised in the meeting that the university is to be built on about 102 acres of land, in which post-graduation in all medical systems under AYUSH i.e. Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy will be imparted. Hospitals for all these medical systems will also be built. A 300-bed for Ayurveda, 175 beds for Unani, 175 for Siddha, 75 for Homeopathy, 30 for Yoga and Naturopathy hospitals will be constructed.
