CM holds High-Level meeting on Mission Olympic 2036

Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that to keep Haryana at the forefront in sports and to achieve the goals of Mission Olympic 2036, the state will develop world-class sports infrastructure. As part of this initiative, five Centers of Excellence under the Sports Department will be set up across universities in the state. Each center will offer facilities for three different sports, thereby covering a total of 15 disciplines for training and development. The Chief Minister instructed officials to coordinate with the respective universities and ensure the timely completion of this initiative.

The Chief Minister was presiding over a high-level meeting held here today with senior officials of the Sports Department and other concerned departments to review preparations for Mission Olympic 2036. Minister of State for Sports, Sh. Gaurav Gautam also remained present in the meeting.

The Chief Minister emphasized the need to nurture sporting talent at the international level, strengthen sports infrastructure, and provide athletes with world-class facilities through a well-defined strategy.

He said that Haryana is a sports powerhouse of the country, and to further strengthen this status, athletes will be provided with the best facilities. Stadiums will be modernized, availability of coaches will be ensured, and arrangements related to training, sports science, and nutrition will be reinforced in line with global standards. The Centers of Excellence will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to enable athletes to perform at their best.

Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi, Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education Department Sh. Vineet Garg, Principal Secretary, Sports Department Sh. Navdeep Singh Virk, Commissioner and Secretary, Finance Department Sh. Mohammed Shayin, Director General, Sports Department Sh. Sanjeev Verma, Deputy Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sh. Yashpal, and Vice-Chancellor of Sports University, Rai, Sh. Ashok Kumar, and other officers remained present during the meeting.
