CM Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid homage to Lok Nayak Jaiprakash Narayan on his death anniversary. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan garlanded his portrait in the auditorium at his residence. Shri Jaiaprakash Narayan, popularly known as JP or ‘Lok Nayak’, was an Indian freedom fighter, social reformer and politician. He is mainly known for leading the opposition against Smt. Indira Gandhi in 1970. The Government of India posthumously awarded him the country’s highest civilian honour ‘Bharat Ratna’ in 1998. In 1965, he was also awarded the Magsaysay Award for social service. Jaiaprakash Narayan ji died on October 8, 1979 in Patna after a prolonged illness.
