CM Shri Chouhan Pays Tribute to Adi Revolutionary Shri Vasudev Balwant Phadke

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid homage to Adi revolutionary Shri Vasudev Balwant Phadke on his death anniversary. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan paid floral tributes by garlanding his picture in the auditorium at his residence office.
Shri Vasudev Balwant Phadke was born on November 4, 1845 in Kelshi village of Konkan. He was moved to see the pathetic condition of the farmers during the British period. Vasudev Balwant Phadke was the first revolutionary of the Indian freedom struggle. He followed the armed path to attain freedom. By uniting the Koli, Bhil and Dhangad communities, he formed a revolutionary organization named “Ramoshi”. They robbed the wealthy British merchants to collect money for the freedom struggle.
Phadke was captured in Bijapur on 20 July 1879. He was prosecuted and awarded punishment of Kala Pani. Adi revolutionary Shri Vasudev Balwant Phadke died in prison on 17 February 1883.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has tweeted that – “I pay floral tributes at the feet of the great freedom fighter Vasudev Balwant Phadke ji, who forced the British government’s sleep to vanish by forming an armed organisation ‘Ramoshi’ to break the shackles of subjugation of Mother Bharati. You will always be a hero to future generations.”
